We have been looking forward to Burberry for a long time. Before Riccardo Tisci arrived, people always talked about the aging, its rigidity and lack of innovation that belong to Burberry’s history. Maybe freshness is always the keyword in fashion.
With many luxury brands embracing street trends, it seems only the pursuit of young people’s preferences will not be abandoned.But you know, fashion is a cycle. And how long can this “street style” carnival last?
Riccardo Tisci is acutely aware that he has neither chosen to upend Burberry’s past nor intends to turn his brand debut into a hot style. The rescue of Riccardo Tisci is less superficial. In order to change the consumer’s inherent influence on the brand, he changed the Logo to bring the appropriate topic to the brand. But he knows that design is at the heart of clothes, and that Burberry’s spring/summer 2019 collection show will be called Kingdom.
“When I started to design the first Burberry collection, I thought a lot. Since I graduated from London 20 years ago, I have come back to London now. London has made me realize my dream of being a designer. Riccardo Tisci explains this series of reasons for the name of Kingdom.
He Refined the show into three parts: the Refined, Relaxed and Evening.He both pays tribute to the 162-year-old British aristocrat and leads everyone into a future that belongs to him and his brand.

Riccardo Tisci re-created it, adding waist seals to the trench coats, embellished with feathers, inlaid with rings and adorned with flowing floral scarves. Classic plaid with horizontal stripes, cut out a butterfly collar shirt. Or a coat made of tweed. The designer heavily accentuated the camel. Different textures of fabrics combined with different shades of color contrast, quite elegant.
Burberry’s knights wore the most iconic British suits. It was wet in London, and the knight had no sword only an umbrella to keep out the wind and rain. Overall, the tribute is a large percentage, almost equivalent to a full series.
To young part, driven by the spirit of rebellious punk, street flavor began to thicken. Black, white, cow grain with pass grain, leopard grain apply, also make a person at the moment shine.
Evening is elegant. In this whole “Kingdom”, Burberry’s new totem monogram is also a big attraction. The combination of T and B is very flexible and can be used as decorative patterns printed on clothing.
Compared with luxury brands that cater to the younger generation and follow street trends, Riccardo Tisci brings back classic to Burberry.
